There has not been a spring go by in the last 40 years that I have not thought of Mike's and Allen's deaths and ache for their parents and siblings. Having children and grandchildren really clues you as to what the depth of pain could be to lose a child. I hope the families can still find peace in knowing that Mike and Allen are still thought of several times a year, and their gentleness, happiness and smiles are still remembered. Parents, you should be proud that your sons touched so many lives in the very short time they were here. They are still loved and missed by all.
How many girls from our class was in love with Allen? I know he was the 1st love of my life. He was the master of the french kiss! I think of him often and visit his grave occasionally when I feel really the need. Allen and Mike both will live in most of our hearts forever...
