Marsha Ann Hawkins (Wheeler)

Marsha Hawkins Wheeler passed away on March 26, 2015 following a battle with cancer.  Marsha's husband Michael is also a graduate of RHS Class of 1969.

Marsha Ann Hawkins Wheeler, 64, of 481 Frank Whitfield Road died Thursday, March 26, 2015. She was born in Person County to the late Frank Lee Hawkins, Sr. and Alma Odell Walker Hawkins. Mrs. Wheeler was also preceded in death by one brother, Frank Lee "Joe Billy" Hawkins, Jr. and one sister; Alma "Sister" Elizabeth Puett. She was a member of the United Methodist Women and Grace United Methodist Church where she served as a choir member. Mrs. Wheeler was a homemaker and babysitter for over 30 years. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud Nana.

Surviving is her husband for over 44 years, Michael Wheeler, of the home; one son, Greg Wheeler, of Cary; one daughter, Wendy Wheeler Tickel and husband Jimmy, of Roanoke Rapids; a twin brother, Marvin "Bo" Hawkins, of Roxboro; mother-in-law, Frances Nelson Wheeler, of Roxboro; brother-in-law, Edgar Puett, of Roxboro; sister-in-law, Linda Hawkins, of Milton, NH; a host of nieces and nephews; and one grandson, Seth Tickel, of Roanoke Rapids.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, March 30, 2015 at Grace United Methodist Church by Pastor Ben Sims and Minister Marvin "Bo" Hawkins. Burial will follow in Providence Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6:30-8:00 PM Sunday, March 29, 2015 at Brooks and White Funeral Home and other times at the home.

Pallbearers will be Alvin Puett, Kevin Hawkins, Adam Oakley, Charles Strange, Tony Cole, Jody Williams, Phillip Carlisle, and Brandon Carlisle.

Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Herring Sunday School Class and Duke Life Flight Staff.

Memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, 313 Church Street, Roxboro, NC 27573.
