Dorsey Lewis Oliver

Dorsey passed away on his 58th birthday following a lengthy illness.

Dorsey Lewis Oliver, 58, of 377 Mellie Clayton Rd., died Friday, March 6, 2009, at Halifax Regional Hospital. Born in Person County, Mr. Oliver was son of the late Lewis Oliver and Mary Frances Bowes Oliver, of Roxboro. Mr. Oliver was a former employee of Loxcreen and was a farmer and avid woodworker. He was a member of Clement Baptist Church.

In addition to his mother, Mr. Oliver is survived by his wife Deborah Tapp Oliver; five children, Donald Lewis Oliver, of Hurdle Mills, Lynn Painter, of Leasburg, Tracey Powell, of Roxboro, April Pulliam, of Leasburg, and Amy Berned, of Timberlake; fourteen grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 2PM Monday at the Brooks & White Chapel by the Rev. Lewis Wall and the Dr. Ben Gault, Sr. Burial will follow in Clement Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:30-8:30PM Sunday at the Brooks & White Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Lynn Painter, 7497 US HWY 158E, Leasburg.

Pallbearers will be Randy Horner, Randy Pulliam, David Walker, Scott Powell, Tommy Miller and Arthur Snead.
