Darrell M. Rudder

A memorial service for Darrell Martin Rudder, 57, of 90 Frank Whitfield Rd., Hurdle Mills, who died Friday, May 18, 2007 at his home, was conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, May 21, in the Brooks & White Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Thomas G. Holtsclaw. Burial was in the Wheeler’s Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

Born in Person County, Mr. Rudder was the son of Katie Allen Rudder Bowes of Hurdle Mills, who survives, and the late Henry Herman Rudder. His late sister was Judith Lee Rudder.

He was the owner of Olive Hill Food Mart.

He attended Lamberth Memorial Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Darlene Reaves Rudder; two daughters, Kathryn Rudder Winstead of Hurdle Mills and Amanda Leigh Rudder of Roxboro; a stepson, Jeremiah Keith Solomon of Roxboro; a brother, H. Michael Rudder of Roxboro; two grandchildren, Sarah Kaitlyn Suitt and Brenna Marie Winstead; and a step-grandchild, Jack Winstead.

Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
