Gwyn passed away on May 10, 1999, in Knightdale, N.C. She died suddenly of heart failure, possibly caused by a clot. She was 48 and left behind her husband, Dwight A. Pearce, and children - Micah and Breanna, and sister Trish Sanford (RHS class of '65).
