
Caroline B. Smith The funeral for Caroline Brooks Smith, 36, of Solomon Ct., who died Wednesday, May 3, 2006, at her home, will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 7, in Montwood Baptist Church by the Rev. Carroll Brackett and the Rev. Martin Hall. Burial will be in the Oak Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Smith was a native of Person County, the daughter of Angela Bowes Gentry of Roxboro, who survives, and the late Danny F. Brooks. Her late step-father was David B. Gentry. She was a homemaker and a member of Montwood Baptist Church. She also appeared in the movies Patch Adams and Freedom Song. Surviving in addition to her mother are a daughter, Brittany Leanne Smith of Roxboro; her grandmother, Joyce D. Bowes of Roxboro; her former husband, Ronald Smith of Timberlake; a brother, Lucas Gentry of Roxboro; a sister, Suzanne B. Snead of Roxboro; a niece Erica Ladd; and two nephews Jonathan Snead and Kaleb Gentry. Visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today, May 6, at Brooks & White Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Suzanne B. Snead, 214 Clayton Ave. Pallbearers will be Alfred Clayton, Chris Puett, Jeromy Harris, Jim Davis, Sam Green and Jimmy Thaxton. Memorials may be made to the Brittany L. Smith College Fund, 214 Clayton Ave., Roxboro, NC 27573.

I really miss seeing Caroline around town. She was always so caring and concerned about how everybody else was doing. Her daughter looks just like her. She is greatly missed.
