
Tammy Williams Obituary
Mrs. Tammy Teresa Royster Williams, age 64, peacefully entered eternal rest on Monday, December 2, 2024, at her home. She was born on August 27, 1960, to the late Hassel Hatchett and Annie Margaret Harris, who survives.
Tammy was a native of Person County and a member of the Hester Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She attended Person County Schools and was a graduate of the Class of 1978. She was a huge fan of the UNC Tarheels. She loved her family and friends and would go out of her way to help anyone who needed her assistance. She was employed by the North Carolina Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission. Tammy volunteered every four years with the Person County Board of Elections, working the polling sites on Election Day. She would also assist candidates. She was a devoted daughter, wife, sister, friend, and grandmother. Tammy never met a stranger. She loved her family dearly and would do anything for them. Tammy enjoyed working in the yard with her mama and planting flowers. Tammy was preceded in death by her stepfather, Harold T. Harris, one brother Lorenzo Bernard Rogers, and one sister, Angela Denise Rogers. Her maternal grandparents, Ralph and Cora Webb Royster and paternal grandparents, Malcumb "Bunk-Cee" and Sadie Tucker Hatchett. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Clyde Williams of the home, two sons, Keavon L. Royster of Roxboro, NC and TreVel Williams of the home. A stepdaughter, Ebony Williams Raglin of Roxboro, NC. Her mother, Annie Margaret Royster Rogers Harris of Roxboro, NC. Six grandchildren, DyShawn Bailey (Erika), Lexus Allen, TyQuan Royster, Tyrik Royster, Zaiden Williams, and Ra'Moni Nova Mae Royster and nine great grandchildren. Three sisters, Lori R. Ragland (Roy), Debbie H. Timmons (Ernest) and Gwen Dolyn, all of Roxboro, NC. Three brothers, Michael Rogers (Lisa) of Roxboro, NC, Thomas Harris (Barbara) of Laurel, Maryland and Angelo Allen of Timberlake, NC. Two aunts, Irie Poteat and Linda Royster; one great aunt, Annie Black of Roxboro, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Public viewing at Alan L. Lawson Mortuary 209 Chub Lake St. Roxboro, NC on Wednesday, December 4th from 1:00 - 6:00pm. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 5th at 12pm at Hester Grove Missionary Baptist Church 590 Wheelers Church Rd. Hurdle Mills, NC 27541. Eulogist, Rev. Loretta Elliott, Pastor of the Mayo Grove Baptist Church, Alton, Va. Burial will follow the service in the Hester Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Family visitation will from 11:30am - 12pm at the church.
