Mr. Herman Lee Reed died on Thursday, Oct. 5, 2023 at the age of 65. Mr. Reed was born in Halifax County on Dec. 19, 1957, to the late Johnnie Reed Sr. and Mary Belle Jordan Reed. He was formerly employed by Collins & Aikman and North America. Mr. Reed is survived by one brother, Thomas Reed of Roxboro, North Carolina; five sisters, Jean R. Sanford (George) of New City, New York, Estelle R. Smith, Joan D. Reed, Gladys R. Carrington and Patricia R. Jones (Vince), all of Roxboro, North Carolina; half-brother Archie Reed of Danville; one uncle; three aunts; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Ann M. Thompson; and three brothers, John M. Reed Jr., Sanford L. Reed and Ellis J. Reed. Memorial services for Mr. Herman Lee Reed will be Friday, Oct. 13, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services are provided by Jeffress Funeral Home, South Boston.
