Falling tree kills Roy man who was trying to cut it down

A man died Saturday after being struck by a falling tree in his front yard.

Killed was:Marion Biddle, 43, Roy.

About 11:30 a.m., Biddle and two friends were cutting a tree down in front of his house on the 5900 South block of 2600 West, said Roy Police Lt. Ed Rhoades. The base of the falling tree kicked back and struck Biddle.

The impact knocked Biddle to the ground. He remained unconscious and not breathing while paramedics tried to revive him, Rhoades said. He was taken to Ogden's McKay Dee Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The man's family was not home at the time of the accident.
