I MOVED FROM GLENVIEW, IL AT THE VERY END OF SIXTH GRADE.  YVONNE WAS THE FIRST PERSON I MET, SINCE SHE LIVED RIGHT NEXT DOOR TO US.

SHE WAS THE SWEETEST, SHYEST, LOVELIEST PERSON.

MEMORY ESCAPES ME - SO I HONESTLY DO NOT REMEMBER MEETING OTHER KIDS AND NOT BEING  BFFS WITH YVONNE. (HER MOTHER WAS A CHALLENGE)

YVONNE WAS TALENTED AND A WONDERFUL PERSON.

GOD REST HER SWEET SOUL

Yes, Yvonne was a gentle, artistic soul.  She lived in Florida, and accroding to her parents died of pneumonia there, but I don't recall which year she passed away. I only saw her breifly one year when she and her mom stopped by to see me at the dance studio. It may have been in the mid to late 70's?? I believe she was only 31 or so when you died.

You are so right about her mom!  I remember one shopping trip we took together (by bus!) to Northland Shopping Center when we were teens. In order to ensure that Yvonne would not lose the spending money her mom was intrusting to her, Mrs. R insisted upon pinning the bills (tucked in fabric) to the insdie of Yvonne's bra!  Beet-red embarrased, Yvonne softly protested her mother's blatant lack of confidence in her level of responsibility - to no avail, however, as we both knew that there was no changing her mon's mind once she had decided on anything.

I'm glad my mom did not have the same inclination, because - except for my nose - my body at that same age gave no indication of whether I was coming or going. The thought of having to pin my cash to my undershirt would  have been doubly mortifying!

May you be smiling down upon us this weekend, Yvonne.

I carpooled with Yvonne to school many mornings and we were in the same Girl Scout troup which lasted through our high school years.  I have many good memories of her and her artistic talent..
