Virginia Stephens

Virginia Stephens Day, of Spokane, Wash., passed away December 10, 2023, after a short illness.  She was born in Red Oak, Iowa to the laste Ken and Irene Stephens and raised in Rupert, Idaho.

Virginia graduated from Rupert High School in 1954. She was happily married for 58 years to her late husband, Tom Day. They enjoyed camping and fishing as well as keeping a home filled with laughter. Quilting and sewing were a few of Virginia's favorite hobbies.  She made beautiful quilts for her children and grandchiidren.  Always interested in fashion, she worked for many years at the Bon Marche in downtown Spokane.  She was a keen Gonzaga Men's Basketball far and looked forward to each game and season,  Virginia is survived by sons Dennis and his wife Barb; David; brother Ken and his wife Sally; Cameron and his wife, Nickky; Miranda; and great-grandson Dino

At her request, no memorial service is planned.  She requested donations be sent to her favorite local public radio station: KSPS.

Virginia will be deeply missed by her family and friends.  She will always be remembered for her smile and her generous heart.
