John Crowe

John Warner Crowe, 75 year old Rupert resident , passed away Monday, November 28, 2011 at St. Luke's Hospital in Twin Falls.

John was born to Rev. James and Ruby Carey Crowe on November 25, 1936 in Dyersburg, Tennessee.  He attended school in Rupert while his father served the Rupert United Methodist Church.  He and his siblings worked hard with their parents to establish the idaho Youth Ranch north of Rupert.  He graduated from Dyersburg High School in Dyersburg, Tennessee in 1956, then went on to attent the University of idaho and earned his B.A.  He later attended Tuskegee Istitute in Alabama earning his Msters Degree in education.

John married Sharon Knoblauch of Rupert in 1960. They have one daughter.  John had an eclectic career.  He began his career as a teacher & taught high school and junior college for 15 years,  He turned his passion for uinderwater diving into a 23-year career as a hard hat commercial diver, during which time he also bought and harvested fresh water mussel shell for export to Japan for use in their pearl industry.  In his later years, he worked in the hyperbaric oxygen field adminishering H2O to autistic children and adult stroke victims, which gave him great pleasure for 10 years until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife Sharon of Rupert; daughter Shannon Crowe of Memphis, Tennessee,son Kendric (Michele) Proctor of Glen Allen Mississippi; five grandchildren: Zachary, Seth, Leah Jordan; his brother, George (Dee) Crowe of Nmpa, Idaho; sister, Anna Crowe Deward of Brunswick, Georgia; 10 nieces and nephews.

At John's request, no funeral or memorial services will be conducted.  Memorials may be made to the Rupert United Methodist church or the Iaho Youth Ranch.  Cremation Services are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home & Crematory in Rupert.
