I graduated from Arkansas Tech University and started my career as an Assistant Boys Basketball Coach for the Russellville School District from 1987-1989. In 1989 I took the position of Head Boys Basketball Coach for Plainview where I remained until 1991. In 1991 I became Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach for Arkansas Tech University until 1993. I started my career with Dover School District in 1993 where I became Senior Boys Head Basketball Coach until I made the transition to Administration. I am currently Athletic Director and Transportation/Custodial Supervisor for the Dover School District.
I married Karen Whittenburg in 2006. Karen is a loan officer and Branch Coordinator for Liberty Bank of Arkansas. We have a blended family of 5 wonderful children. Katie is 13 and plays Volleyball for Gardner Jr. High East. Kyle is 10 and Gracie is 6; they both attend school in the Russellville School District. Amy, 23, resides in Springdale with her husband Kole. Amy is Marketing Director for the Bank of Fayetteville and Kole is Assistant Football Coach for Springdale High School. Molly, 20, resides in Russellville as a Hair Stylist at the Rock House Salon.
