Wow! I cannot believe it's been so long since we graduated! In some ways, it seems like yesterday. A lot has happened since high school, hasn't it? Where to begin........Okay, let's start with education. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 1988 and a Bachelor of Arts in History / Political Science in 1993 - both from Arkansas Tech. I am certified to teach Secondary Social Studies and K-12 Special Education.

I married Michael Scoggins in 1990, and we got custody of his son, Chaz, in 1993. Since 1998, I have been employed at the Yell County Juvenile Detention Center in Danville, where I am now the Director of Education. Needless to say, my job is not boring. We house kids between the ages of 10 and 21 for charges ranging from skipping school to murder. Every child does work at their own level in the subjects they need the most, so at any given time, we rarely have two kids working on the same thing. Every day is a challenge, but I love it.

Chaz is now 19 and living in Georgia with my parents and my brother and his kids. I think he's finally outgrowing the brain damage of being a teenager. He's working full time and attending a super church. I can't ask for more than that. His accomplishments in high school include All-State track - he was second in the state in pole vault and shattered Danville's school record his junior year with a height of 13'-6". That same year, Danville went to the State Championship in football, unfortunately coming up short. Chaz said he sure was getting tired of second place. But, we still enjoy bragging on him.

Michael is a senior lineman for Entergy, where he has been employed for 25 years. He says he's about ready for a desk job, since Arkansas is not known for its nice, cool summers. He has spent a lot of time the last couple of years putting cities back together after hurricanes. Luckily, he did not have to go to New Orleans after Katrina. His crew was sent to Texas instead. When he is not working, he is fishing. He fishes the Wal-Mart BFL circuit, where he is currently working as hard as he can to make the regional. Ultimately, he would like to make it to the All-American, but as he says, you have to take it one tournament at a time to get there. Maybe one day, you'll all see him on ESPN fishing for the big bucks.

My hobbies aren't quite as expensive, since I enjoy reading and doing digital photography and graphics work. My favorite type of book is mystery/suspense, and my favorite work on the computer is restoring old photographs. I look forward to reading about everyone as this wonderful site continues to grow, and I promise, I will add recent photographs as soon as I get some.
