Scott Francis Rasmussen

On August 16, 2006, Scott Francis Rasmussen, husband and father died unexpectedly of a heart condition at his home in South Jordan.

Scott was raised in Sacramento, California. He graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 1986, with a degree in Computer Science. He worked in the San Francisco Bay Area until moving to Sandy in 1998.  He and his wife chose to live in Utah because of their love for the mountains. They loved to ski and bike in the canyons and spent many days backpacking, camping and traveling together.

Scott adored his children, Jenae and Aidan, ages six and four. He was patient, loving and playful. He made time for his family and now rests with no regrets.

In addition to his children, Scott is survived by his wife Joanne Bradley, who will be forever grateful for the years she was blessed to be in his life. Survivors also include his mother, Joyce Rasmussen of Sacramento, California; brother, Peter Rasmussen of Mountain View, California; in-laws David and Dorothy Bradley of Eugene, Oregon, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins in California and Montana.

A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, August 22 at 11:30 am at the Alta Rustler Lodge in Little Cottonwood Canyon. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to South Mountain Community Church Building Fund, or the Utah Bicycle Coalition, a statewide advocacy group working to promote safety on our roads on the part of drivers and cyclists.

Love your family today.

Scott and I would have much fun walking home from Alice Birney together.  Or at least I did. He would mostly just listen as I chatted away. By HS, he grew into his own.  I would try and get him into trouble in Mr Harris' dismal geometry class, but he was always a step-ahead of me- getting ME into trouble! I will always hold dear the many times we skied together in Tahoe- and will always regret not having had the chance to take him up on his invitation to ski with his family in Utah. I am so glad he made the trek from Utah to be with us at the 20th reunion- he was incredibly happy and proud of his family.  I am grateful to know he had a wonderful life, albeit much, much too short.  You are missed...

Sorry to hear Scott was gone. I had heard he lived in Utah but never could find him. I lived about 20 miles away from him. Sad to hear an old friend and neighbor is gone. Wish i could have seen him at the 20th. Love and miss you
