Richard...no that's not it...it's Richie. always has been Richie for me. Richie and I go way back all the way back to elementary- John Sloat. then on to John Still Jr. High and John Kennedy Sr. HS. He and I, we walked to school together, learned about life together, played football in the street with the other neighborhood kids, together. We always hung out, together. When other kids were experimenting with drugs, crime and other bad elements, we stayed away, together.

After High School we went our different ways as many childhood friends do. But we always kept our friendship alive. Richie would check in on my mom and dad while I studied and worked abroad. He was such a wonderful caring person. One of those close friends you can count on one hand. He also liked to laugh- big laugh.

His smile was always sincere. He kept a genuine concern about him. He was a humble and a proud veteran- who served our country well. He inspired youth and adults alike... he was active in the community and always supported the youth. Enjoyed sports (the ultimate Raider fan) and martial arts. Richie enjoyed life and cherished his family and friends.

I saw Richie a few months ago at our 30th. high school reunion...he brought his wonderful wife...and the minute we saw each other...after years and years apart...celebrating life...and again...we were together.

I will miss you. And until we meet again upstairs in a sports bar watching another Raider game...we will again be together.

Some ask the question- "If a tree falls in a forest...does it make a sound?" In Richie's case the answer is a definite YES! A huge tree has fallen and the ache of our heats can be heard around the world.

My heartfelt condolences goes to Diane, Mother Davis, all of Richards family, siblings and friends.
