                         Purtill, Thomas Francis  

Born in San Francisco, on October 14, 1927, a devoted husband of 60 years, father, grandfather and great-grandfather died peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on October 12, 2011. He is lovingly survived by his wife Rosemary and the 3 generations they created together: his children Susan Purtill-Barnes, Sara Ingalls (Tom), David (Linda), Brian (Jymmey Lynne), Joan Lippi (Tom), Mark (Clare); his 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He was a McClatchy High School English and Drama teacher for 21 years and an artist in his own right. He loved the outdoors, backpacking and nature in the "Euell Gibbons" style. He enjoyed building model railroads, playing golf and creating beautiful bonsai. His warm smile and gentle way will be dearly missed. Friends are welcome to attend a Memorial Mass on Friday, Oct. 21, 2011, at 10:30am, at Sacred Heart Church, 1040 39th Street.
