It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia Jean Dunlavey. She died peacefully in her sleep in Carmichael, California on December 2, 2017. She was 73 years old. Born on October 7, 1944 in Rochester, New York, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Jean Dunlavey of Sacramento. Pat lived in the Sacramento area for 67 years. She was a graduate of El Camino High School, Class of 1962. She was known for her clever sense of humor and loved telling stories, some of which were true, and some from her great imagination. Like the Irish say, "Never let the facts get in the way of a good story." Family meant everything to Pat. She is survived by her twin brother Michael (Lindy) Dunlavey of Rocklin, California; her son David (Tami) Larson of Roseville; Peter (Miranda) Larson of Folsom; Patty (Jim) Meads of Southern California; and Natalie (Matthew) King of Peterborough, England. Pat always enjoyed talking about her grandchildren; Matthew, Nicolas, David, Tai, Jaden, Addilyn, Mike, Jaime, Declan, Jade, and four great grandchildren. Her family would like to thank the wonderful staff of Mountain Manor Senior Residence in Carmichael, which was Pat's home for eight years, especially the owner, Jim Jordan and the head nurse, Jellah Strain. They cared for Pat with the utmost kindness and compassion, as did Advanced Hospice, and we will always be grateful. There will be no service per Pat's request.

Patty and Michael lived across the street from me when we were growing up. They were the first kids I met and played with and they were both my age - obviously as they were twins!  I went to their house a lot to play, and the kids in the neighborhood of all ages played in their front yard in the summer evenings. We also played a lot of challenging whole block (territory) Hide and Seek games. In addition there were many birthday parties. And, they had the first TV on the block.  It is sad to know that Patty had difficulties as she grew older, but she managed to create a wonderful family with lots of children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren! And I am sure that she was comforted by the wonderful care and attention given to her by her brother.  I love the photo in the biography- those eyes and that smile are all Patty! I hope she is resting in peace.
