Bob and I and several other guys (Richard Frayne, John Sheedy, Roger Rogers, Dave Cladianos and Keith Christensen) all hung together in high school and beyond. Everyone had nicknames - Bob's was "Tiny". Most of us had Chevy's - Bob's was a 58 Impala which he kept immaculate. Bob and I even dated the same girl - Linda Cooper, whom I later married. I remember Bob working at Taylor's market on Freeport Blvd. for many years. He was promised he could buy it when Roy, the owner, got older and wanted to retire. Instead Roy sold it to somone else - (the butcher). Bob was angry and crushed but eventually moved on and went into Real Estate with Cook's Realty. He married Diane, who was a real pistol, and they had two daughters. Diane died at an early age and a year or two later Bob passed away. From a spiritual perspective it seemed like he didn't want to live alone without her. Tiny, you are missed. Alan Holmstrom
I remember Bob very well. I left Sacramento however didn't go too far moving to Modesto in the late 60's. I used to go to Taylor's all the time when I would go to visit my Mother to take her shopping. Bob was always so cheerful. A very upbeat guy. I didn't know that about Mr. Taylor selling to the butcher. After my Mother died I spoke to him about Real Estate as we needed to sell the house. I remember talking to him after his wife died and he was very heart broken. RIP Bob
Bob was the greatest! We were classmates since Crocker Elementary School and I lived down the street from Taylor's Market so I saw him often. I also had the pleasure of working with Bob on our 20th,25th,30th, and 35th class reunions. When it was time to start planning the reunions I looked forward to seeing him. We had lots of laughs about the "good ole days" at McClatchy and how we were getting older and older and older....EEEK! He would do anything for you and had many friends......everyone loved Bob!
I know he was devastated when Diane passed away which as Alan Holmstrom said previously this may have attributed to his early death? I miss you Bob and wish you were here to help us celebrate our 50th Class Reunion so we could laugh together. God bless you.

Bob was a big guy but a nice friend along with Bill Ashby.
I think we all knew each other from Sutterville Elementary, Joaquin Miller/Cal Jr High and then C.K. McClatchy.
Rest in Peace Bob.
