Bob was a mid term and my next door neighbor. He and the gang - Mike Jpseph, Jay Rosenberg, the Becksteds, Tom Tash and others  all ran around and usually had  a good time. Bob was not the student and after HS he went to work doing whatever. His father was a building contractor and possibly he went to work for his dad. I was away at college so we lost track after I went away.

It was my senor year at San Jose when he reached out about going to Mexico for Spring break. I had to help my father over the break so I declined. Bob, and Brian Slattery and one other person, went into Mexico and were driving back into the US and went off the road by Nogales as I recall. Bob was thrown from the car and died in Mexico. .

It was a terrible tragedy for his family and for his friends.

We had a great childhood and teen years - doing what boys do - playing sports, doing things that today would have put us in jail, causing trouble for our parents. We always seemed to have fun and although drifitng apart after school, could always rekindle the friendhsip.

Sorry to lose you Bobby.
