Janet Lee (Boulware) Ehlers was born on October 24, 1945 and passed away on July 1, 2022 at the age of 76 years old. Jan is survived by her husband Glenn Ehlers, daughter and son in law, Kristin and Josh Hermann, and son and daughter in law, Jon and Julie Ehlers. Jan's grandchildren include, Olivia and Wyatt Hermann.
Jan was born and raised in Sacramento, CA, where she graduated from McClatchy High School and then went on to Sacramento City College, and from there graduated from California State University, Sacramento, where she earned a teaching credential. Jan spent the next several years in education, where she discovered her passion for teaching about marine life. After several years of teaching in the Sacramento City Unified School District, Jan went on to further her education and earned a Masters Degree, allowing her to move into administration for the school district. One of Jan's biggest accomplishments was providing excellent service to the Ethel I. Baker Elementary School, where she spent her final professional years as a principal.
Retirement years were spent lunching with friends at Nordstrom, traveling across the country, and frequenting music productions in San Francisco and Sacramento. Jan had a smile that would light up any room. Her relaxed, yet energetic demeanor always welcomed those around her to want to spend more time with her. She was admired by many, professionally and personally. Her love of animals was quite the talk amongst her family, as Jan had a hard time turning down the opportunity to take in a stray, some of which became very beloved companions to her. Her obsession for the holidays was simply epic and her flawless décor was enjoyed by many. Jan was a great friend and mentor who was loved by so many. Her kind spirit will always be remembered, and her legacy will indeed live on.
While services will be private, donations may be made to Shriners Children's Hospital or the American Lung Association.

I'm saddened to hear about Jan. We were friends in school and kept in touch for a few years after. We always had fun together and loved just hanging out at her house. She had an energetic personality and I can see why she had such a full and blessed life. My condolances to Glen and family...

Being with Jan was always so much fun. And when you threw in her best buddy, Luenna Shevchenko - - - crazy fun! Fond memories of them both. And so sad they have both been added to our In Memory List. Sincere sympathy to her family. Jan was a definite asset to our great class of '63.
