	Waynette Casey Ellison
Date of Death: April 4, 2006

Waynette passed away peacefully on 4 April 2006 after a long battle with cancer; she left many people--friends and family--who cared for her.
Waynette graduated from U.C. Davis, and with honors from McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento.  After some private practice, she became attorney at the Fair Political Practices Commission.  In 1992 she transferred to the California Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board as Admin.Law Judge.  She retired in 2006 as Asst. Chief Admin. Law Judge, Field Operations.
Waynette enjoyed golf, bridge, singing with the Sac. Valley Chorus, gouormet cooking, and travelling, esp. to Paris.  She was loving and caring, and had a special sense of humor.  Waynette is missed by many.

About a year ago, I heard of Waynett's passing -- we had not really been in touch, but the news saddened me, as she and I had traveled to France in the summer of '63 with Miss Carolyn Brown, our French teacher, to tour Europe and study French at the Université de Grenoble. In that group were also Bob Bloomberg, Patti Dillon, Joan Koblick...many long hours on trains, singing to Bob's guitar. Waynette was a sweet girl, and I'm sorry she is no longer here...

I remember trig class with Waynette and Susan Pfieffer. The two girls sat one row away from me. We had a grand time, but they learned a lot more Trig than I did.

Waynette was one sweet lady. Wish I could have kept up with her career.

Waynette and I were in the same group in high school. As we were taking French classes, we had fun going to movies in English and translating them or trying to translate them in into French. This was funnier when the movie was really bad. In one movie a guy was stabbed in the throat with a large implement. Waynette whispered, "He has a sore throat." (Il a mal a la gorge.) We thought we were hilarious!

Here is a group photo from our trip to Grenoble that Diane mentioned. A friend, Craig Green, was also scheduled to go on that trip, but opted at the last minute to spend his money on a used car instead; a green Morris Minor if memory serves me correctly. So I ended up the only guy on the trip. Poor me. I remember Waynette with great fondness. She was funny, wise beyond her years, and a great traveling companion.
