Bill Stevens. A man's man AND a ladies man. Who among us back then wasn't a little or a lot jealous of Bill's skills. Extremely smart (I believe he was accepted by Stanford). After HS graduation a bunch of guys planned a Europe trip, which turned out to be a learning experience in a lot of ways. I did not make the trip, just remember what others had to say about it.
One big thing for Bill of course was the fact he did become a Buddhist monk in Thailand. I'm not clear how or why Bill ventured off to Thailand by himself, or how he became enamored and devoted to Buddhism. There was a nice article in the San Francisco Chronicle about Bill...including a picture of Bill in his Buddhist robes. I have that article somewhere in deep storage, and when I find it I will make it available to everybody. When Bill returned from that trip things were never quite the same with him. I think the mental journey Bill had taken had succeded in leaving me way behind. I think Bill had become clear about worldly things that have taken me years to begin to learn. Time and distance had once again taken their toll on our relationship and I never again had a chance to see Bill. Unfortunate for me to be sure. Farewell Bill.

I had heard that Bill had become a monk or something. Anyone have information? I mainly remember that he was such a good looking guy!
