Thomas Elmer McKee

Obituary

Thomas Elmer McKee, son of Ione Patton, Harry McKee, and step-mother Clarice McKee, passed away on Monday, May 17th, 2021 in Blairmore, AB. His children Clinton, Benson, and Spencer, and his beloved wife and caretaker Bettiruth were at his side. He was preceded by his parents, stepmother, and siblings, and what a great reunion they had when he came home. His sons, step-son Robert Rowan, his daughters-in-laws Erika Rowan, Kathryn, Laken, Theah McKee, grandchildren and step-grandchildren Gage, Brooklyn, Nathan, Caden, Kolby, Ezra, Bethany, Kiahonna, Jarom, Karyssa, Cruz, Isabelle, Saphira, Kyson, Miriam, and Kensley, and the cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends mourn the loss of this much loved and respected man.

Tom was born August 31, 1955 in Leamington ON. He was the fourth of five siblings. He shared many memories of the adventures he and his siblings would have and always enjoyed talking about his time spent at Lake Cameron in Tobermory, ON at the family cabin his father built. He was married to Barbara Wyles from 1978 to 2001 and they had three boys together. He moved their young family in 1990 to Coaldale, AB then to Raymond. Tom married Bettiruth Elliott December 29th, 2001 and they moved to Strathmore, AB. They lived in Airdrie, and Fort MacLeod, then in May 2009 made the move to live full time in Coleman, AB where they had built a cabin, and resided there until his passing.

Tom was a man of great faith and knew his Father in Heaven loves all His children, and he always tried to show kindness and compassion to everyone he met. Tom enjoyed staying in touch with his family, extended family, and friends and cherished the many visits he had with each of them. Tom made many memories hunting and fishing with his sons and grandchildren, and loved most when he was surrounded by them all in the great outdoors. He enjoyed creating and building things in his shop and sneaking treats when his wife wasn’t watching. We will miss his laughter and his stories and can’t wait for the  day when we can hear just one more story. We love and miss you. Until we meet again.

A private Graveside Service was held on Tuesday, May 25, 2021.
