David Wallaert went to be with the Lord Friday, September 3, 1993, as a result of an automobile accident. Age 22 years, David was born September 24, 1970 in Saginaw. He was to be wed to Dawn Van Sickle in 1994. As a graduate of Swan Valley High School, he later graduated from Michigan State University. He was active in the University Water Ski Team and Treasurer of the Finance Club. David enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and golfer. He worked for Olde Discount Brokers as a Stock Broker. He is survived by his parents, brother and sister.
I will never forget the last High School dance we had where Dave was dancing like the big goofball he was. He was surfing on one of our classmates back! My memory is bad and forgot who it was. He was always a real funny guy!
Just thinking about Dave makes me want to cry and laugh all at the same time. I think of him everytime I go up north or pass the cemetery. I'll never forget his funeral and how much I learned from his family that day. Dave's death taught me a few very important lessons. One was to treat everyday with respect. The other was that if I ever have to give someone to the Lord to accept it as a positive thing. If they are chosen they are the lucky ones...Even though I am sad about losing Dave...I am thankful for learning those lessons when I did because I've had to fall back on them more than once....We miss you Dave!!!
