I am so saddened to hear this news and my heart goes out to Kaye. I wish there was an obituary. My connection with Jim was way back in our early years. There were a lot of kids on our street and Jim (“Jimmy”) lived two doors down. We would all gather and play baseball in the street, hide and seek, “cream the guy with the ball” (a form of football, sort of) and ice skate down the street on the Handley School property. We were all fans of westerns and thought “Jimmy” looked like Roy Rogers. He was a great kid, all round good guy and great childhood friend.
If I remember right, he went to Peace Lutheran School and then on to AHHS. I rarely crossed paths with him after age 12, until one of the AHHS reunions where I had a great conversation with Jim and Kaye. I think he was a Fire Chief in the Saginaw Fire Department but I hope someone can confirm that. He and Kaye seemed so happy together and what really stood out was that they both seemed to have a lovely zest for life. I am sad to hear he is gone and that there has been no record found of his life. My deepest condolences to Kaye
So saddened to hear of his passing.
Jim and I were very close friends at AHHS. I have many fond memories of the fun and crazy times we had. I especially remember us sneaking out in his family VW bug before we had our licenses and driving on the sidewalks and lawns! Lots of other crazy stuff like stealing turkeys from Harris turkey farm and other alcohol related stuff, that I won't get into the details of, but always provided an adventure for sure!
Rest in peace my friend! Bob Roth
