1940 - 2006

 

Vincent G. Mosca, beloved husband, father, grandfather, son and brother passed away Wednesday May 17, 2006 at St. Mary's of Michigan hospital from esophageal cancer. Vincent was born January 15, 1940 in Ishpeming, Michigan, the son of Vincent and Shirley (Williams) Mosca. His family moved to Saginaw in 1944 when his father took a job with General Motors Corporation. Vincent obtained Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Central Michigan University.

He taught in the Saginaw City Schools for 38 years, beginning in 1964 and retiring in 2002. He taught one year at the former Arthur Hill Technical High School, 27 years at South Junior High School (now South Middle School), and his last ten years of teaching were at Arthur Hill High School. Vince coached his children in Little League, soccer, softball, basketball and flag football. He was on the boards of South Little League and the Saginaw Township Soccer League for many years. Vince was an avid golfer and bowler and bowled with his father in leagues for 42 years.

Vincent is survived by his beloved family; his wife of 41 years, Joanne; his sons, Vincent J., Michael, Daniel and Matthew, all of Saginaw, and James, of Midland; his daughter, Andrea Koutras and her husband John and their son, Vincent's grandson, Vincent Gianni Koutras, of Saginaw; his father, Vincent Mosca of Saginaw; his sister, Maddy Berkobien and her husband Edward and their sons, Greg and Edward Berkobien of Saginaw. Vince was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Williams Mosca. Honoring Mr. Mosca's wishes cremation has taken place.
