M. Nancy Baxter (Harden)of Saginaw, Michigan passed way Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at Wellspring. Age 99 years. The daughter of the late Henry J. and Bertha (Bomas) Harden was born November 23, 1924, in Saginaw, Michigan. Nancy was a 1943 graduate of Arthur Hill High School, received her bachelor’s degree from Alma College and her master’s degree from the University of Michigan. She taught 39 years for the City of Saginaw Public Schools at Arthur Hill High School, retiring in 1987. She taught speech, English, coached the debate team and served as a counselor. Nancy was an active volunteer with the R.E.A.D. Association, Luther Manor Advisory Committee, Saginaw Choral Society and the Germania Choral. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church where she served as a Deacon, Elder and Church Historian. Nancy loved music ranging from Jazz to Opera. She enjoyed a good game of Bridge. In 1993, she was named Honor Alumnus of Arthur Hill High School. She traveled worldwide but Saginaw was always her home. She enjoyed going to the casino too.

Surviving are her dear family, her brother, Henry (Violet) Harden; her sister, Patricia (Alvin) Wilson; her nieces and nephews, Daniel (Nadine) Wilson; John H. (Bridget) Wilson; Linda Wilson; Janet (Rick) Bonnau; Sandra (Perry) Campau; her great nieces and great nephews, Jacob (Allie) Campau; Marc Wilson; Heather Wilson; Molly Wilson; Sara Wilson; Jack Wilson and Hannah Wilson; Cooper Campau; many cousins in the Netherlands. She was preceded in death by her parents, her nephew, Marc A. Wilson and her ex-husband, William C. Baxter.

In accordance with Nancy’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Noon Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at First Presbyterian Church, 121 S. Harrison St. Saginaw. Rev. Ted McCulloch will officiate. Friends may visit with family from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider First Presbyterian Church, the Saginaw Choral Society, or the R.E.A.D Association. Nancy’s family wish to thank the staff and caregivers at Wellspring, especially Kaitlyn, Alexis, Wendy and Ruth for their excellent care and help.
