Davis Austin - (Music - Arthur Hill High School)
1928 - 2017

David Reynolds Austin passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2017, at Covenant Medical Center-Harrison, at the age of 87 years. David was born on July 29, 1929, in Lincoln, Nebraska, to the late Cassius and Zetta (Reynolds) Austin. He had served in the Colorado Air Force National Guard. On October 20, 1951, David married Beverly Claire Carlzen in Denver, Colorado and she survives him after 65 years of marriage. David was an accomplished violinist. Prior to his retirement, he taught music at Arthur Hill High School and was the Concert Master of the Midland Symphony Orchestra.

Besides his wife, Beverly, he is survived by his son, Arthur (Donna) Austin; and his nephew, Douglas Thomas. David was predeceased by his sister, Betty Thomas, and his brother, William (Bill) Austin. Mr. Austin’s memorial service will be held 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 15, 2017, at Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 N. Michigan Ave., Saginaw. David’s son, Arthur, will conducted his father’s memorial service. Friends are welcome to visit with the family on Thursday, from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service.
