ADRIAN - Nancy Jean Saunders, age 69, formerly of Clayton, passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2020, at Oasis of Adrian with her children by her side.
Nancy was born on July 26, 1951, in Saginaw, MI to Harold and Myrna (Doud) Naismyth. She attended school in the Saginaw area and graduated from Douglas MacArthur High School in 1969. Nancy worked at Tecumseh Products on the production line for 14 years, carrying out various tasks.
Nancy enjoyed being a mother to her children, Jennifer and Troy and was involved with their activities. She was a 4-H and sports mom; and found the time to go camping, boating and fishing all over the U.S. with her family.
She is survived by her children, Jennifer Saunders and Troy (Lisa) Saunders; grandchildren, Samantha, Dominick, Ryan, Evan, Jared and Maci; sister, Charlotte (William) Hardy and many wonderful nieces and nephews. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather, James Naismyth; siblings, Lana Rottman and Daniel Muttscheler; and niece, Rosie Hardy.
At Nancy’s request, cremation will take place and a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Wagley Funeral Home, Adrian with Pastor Gilhouse. Burial of ashes will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Hudson, MI. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Huntington’s Disease Foundation.
