Gilbert, Mrs. Linda Lee   Saginaw, Michigan

 Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at the Cartwright Hospice Residence. Age 66 years. The daughter of the late Carl and Frances (Czechowski) Dilts, Linda was born May 1, 1949 in Saginaw, Michigan. She married Richard John Gilbert, her loving husband of 17 years, on July 6, 1999. He survives her. Linda earned her Associates Degree at Delta College, her Bachelor’s Degree at Northwood University and Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Central Michigan University. She was employed at St. Mary’s of Michigan for several years and then at Delphi as a supervisor for 13 years where she enjoyed working with everyone (hourly and salary). Linda enjoyed swimming in her pool, traveling and cruises with her friends and family, sewing and gardening. She also liked collecting penguins and loved time spent with her family.

 Surviving besides her husband Richard are one son, Christopher Assels, Saginaw; a step-son, Justin and Destiny Gilbert, Freeland; a daughter-in-law, Celia Assels, Garland, Texas; grandchildren, Michael Assels Jr., Garland, Texas; step-grandchildren, Haley and Mackenzie Gilbert, Freeland; Marlaina and Meridian Schram, both of Saginaw; three sisters and one brother, Maryann and Cecil Boman, Charlotte Pohle, Karen and Dean Siler, Richard Little; a sister-in-law, Judy Dilts; many nieces and nephews and special friends including Mary Byron, Louise Andrews, Jan and Fred Bingman, Mrs. Baymont (Mim). Linda was preceded in death by a son, Michael Assels, a sister, Marie Acar, and a brother, Robert Dilts.
