Traverse City-Thomas R. Thrasher, 59, of Traverse City, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009.  He was born May 7, 1949, in Saginaw, the son of Jack and Lucille (Campbell) Thrasher.  He graduated from Douglas MacArthur High School in Saginaw in 1967.  Tom then attended Delta College for drafting and helped develop the Delta College Gun Club.

Tom was involved in CAD drafting for government and automotive companies.  He helped draft components to be used in the Saturn Space Shuttle and the dispatch system for the Saginaw Police Department.  He moved to Traverse City in the early 1980's.  Most recently he was employed at the Traverse City Cherry Capital Airport in Homeland Security and had various special security duties.

Tom was positive, thoughtful and loyal to his family and friends.  He loved bowling, golf and camping.

Tom is survived by his wife, Bridget Kilpatrick.  Bridget proposed in 1997, and they were married in Oct. of 1998.  Also surviving are his sisters, Jacqueline (Paul) Howard and Katherine (Richard) Michalewicz, mother-in-law, Kasey Kilpatrick; sisters and brother-in-laws, Kathryn (Gary) Francisco, Deb (Ralph) Curtis and Joe (Christine Johnson) Kilpatrick; nieces and nephews, Erin (Ryan) Reichman, Chava Howard, Nicole Stroebel, Gary Francisco, Erin Curtis, Kate and Jessie Kilpatrick; and great-nieces and nephews.
