Orval B. Stock , 59, of Midland, died unexpectedly Saturday morning, Feb. 9, 2008, at his residence. 

He was born March 10, 1948, in Saginaw, the son of the late Orval Bruce and Dorothy (Eierman) Stock , and attended technical school in Ohio for two years.

He served with the U. S. Army from 1968until 1970, and was a handyman in the Midland area for several years. Orval was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church, the American Legion Berryhill Post #165 and was a former member of the American Legion Post #164 in Millington and the Drill Team.

Surviving is his son, Jeremy Stock and his wife Mindy of Camby, Ind.; one daughter Jennifer Wright and her husband Scott of Tallahassee, Fla.; two grandchildren, Benjamin and Hannah Stock ; his four brothers and one sister and their spouses, Brady and Cindy Stock of Midland, Dan and Jeanne Stock of Oscoda, John Stock of Novi, Ron Stock of Mexico, and Janet Jozwiak of Bay City. Also surviving is his stepmother, Barb Stock of Kawkawlin; and many nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his nephew Steven Stock . 

Funeral services will take place at 11a.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008, from the St. John's Lutheran Church, 505 E. Carpenter, Midland. The Rev. Douglas Janetzke will officiate, with burial to follow in the Midland Cemetery. Full military honors will be presented by the Midland County Veterans Council and the U. S. Army. 

Orval 's family will receive friends at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 1200 W. Wheeler St. on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of services.
