Kent A. Wurtzel, a beloved member of the community, passed away on December 14, 2023, in Dallas, Texas. He was born on April 25, 1949, in Saginaw, Michigan. Kent led a remarkable life as a dedicated United Auto Workers Union Rep and touched the lives of many through his service.

Kent's commitment to the United Auto Workers Union was unwavering. He fought tirelessly for the rights and welfare of worker.. Kent's invaluable contributions to the union will always be remembered and appreciated.

In addition to his career, Kent was an esteemed member of the Army. He served his country with honor and pride while also devoting his time to representing the workers' interests. His dedication to both his military service and union work exemplified his selflessness and love for others.

Outside of work, Kent enjoyed fishing as a way to unwind and connect with nature. It allowed him to find solace in quiet moments surrounded by the beauty of the outdoors.

Kent is survived by his loving wife, Ruth Wurtzel, whom he married on March 7, 1995, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Their union was filled with love and shared adventures that created lifelong memories. Kent was a cherished father to Chad Wurtzel, Christina Wurtzel, Ray (Bubba) Brewer, Joshua Brewer, Bandy Gifford, Charissa Cole, Chase Wurtzel, Carson Wurtzel, Raylan Wurtzel, Shelby Martin, Emma Jo Gifford, and Chase Gifford. His grandchildren Iva K Busby, Adara Gifford, Carson Wurtzel II (grandson), Raylan Wurtzel II (grandson), Grace Brewer (granddaughter), Alexis Baum (granddaughter), Alexandria Schiffhour (granddaughter), Zacharia Brewer (grandson), Jerimiah Brewer (grandson), and Shelby Martin will always treasure the memories they shared with their beloved grandfather.

Kent was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Wurtzel and Lucille Wurtzel. He is also survived by his siblings Butch Wurtzel, Barbara Hoffman, Kirk Wurtzel (twin brother), Cindy Bedouin, and a host of other relatives and friends who mourn his loss.

A visitation will be held on December 20, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Peters Funeral Home located at 4201 Wellington St., Greenville, TX, 75401. This will be followed by a funeral service at the same location from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM to honor Kent's life and legacy.

Kent A. Wurtzel will forever be remembered for his dedication to his work, his unwavering support for fellow workers, and his love for his family. He has left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace knowing that his memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
