Betty Stikeleather, age 70, of Hemlock, MI passed away Monday, August 4, 2014 at Lapeer McLaren Region Hospital. Betty was born January 3, 1944 and was the daughter of Peter J. and Minnie (Fabe) Frank. Betty grew up in Saginaw and graduated from Michigan Lutheran Seminary. On June 16, 1962 she married Floyd Stikeleather. They had 51 happy years, before his death on February 27, 2014. Betty retired from Community Hospital Service in Saginaw after many years. She was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church in Hemlock. Betty enjoyed camping, crocheting, knitting, and loved to play bingo. She especially loved to spend time with her family and friends. She is survived by her sons, Douglas (Vicki) Stikeleather and Steven (Sherry) Stikeleather; sister, Kay Bennett and nephew, Karl Bennett; brother, Bill (June) Frank and Don (Marylin) Frank; grandchildren, Douglas Stikeleather, Stacy Coon, Zachary Stikeleather and DeAnna Kapp; great-grandchildren, Elijah, Raedyn, and Ava Kapp, many nephews, nieces and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband Floyd. The family will be present for visitation on Thursday, August 7, 2014 from 10 AM to noon with the Funeral Service at 12 PM Thursday at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home. Rev. Dr. William L. Morris will officiate. Cremation will follow.
