William "Bill" Schluckbier

William E. “Bill” Schluckbier, 77, of Reese, died early Thursday morning, June 23, 2022, at the Aleta E. Lutz Veterans Medical Center in Saginaw. He was born October 2, 1944, in Saginaw, son of the late Wilbert “Slip” and Dolores Schroeder Schluckbier and lived in Saginaw for seven years, before moving to Reese. Bill attended Trinity Lutheran Schools in Reese and later graduated from Michigan Lutheran Seminary in Saginaw in 1961 and later attended Delta College. He served his country with the U.S. Army for two years, stationed in Okinawa, as a Supply Clerk. On August 20, 1971, he married the former Ann Hollingsworth in the St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Saginaw. She survives him. Bill was employed for two years at Universal Engineering in Frankenmuth and later at Saginaw Metal Casting, for thirty-six years, as an accountant, and Paymaster. 

Surviving besides his wife Ann, are his son and daughter and their spouses, Jon and Jennifer Schluckbier of Waterford, and Jamie and Phillip Strauss of Reese. Three grandchildren, Jillian, Connor, and Harper and his two canine companions, Sully, and Scout. In addition to his parents, Bill was predeceased by his brother, John Schluckbier, November 11, 2016. 

In honoring Bill’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a Memorial Service to celebrate his life will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2022, from the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 9940 Saginaw Street in Reese. Reverend Mark Gerisch will officiate with private family inurnment to take place later in the St. Elizabeth Catholic Cemetery in Reese with Full Military Honors to be presented by the U. S. Army Honor Guard and the Reese American Legion Post #139. Bill’s family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the Celebration service.
