Lynette Theresa Rowell was called to her eternal home in heaven on January 29, 2013 at the age of 68 after a lengthy, arduous battle against cancer.
She was born on December 6, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan to Pastor Kenneth and Helen (Schwake) Vertz. She was received into God's Kingdom by the Sacrament of Holy Baptism on January 1, 1945. On March 22, 1959 she was confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church, Owosso, Michigan
On November 26, 1966, she was united in marriage to Lyle Rowell and they were blessed with five children.
She is survived by her husband Lyle, their children Peter (Lisa) Rowell, Nathan (Lillian) Rowell, Tressa (Dave) Bruce, Martha Rowell Coffman, twelve grandchildren, her brother Pastor Karl (Carolyn) Vertz and her sister Carol (Robert) Campbell. She was preceded in death by her daughter Erin and her parents Pastor Kenneth and Helen Vertz.
She was not able to attend the Baptism of her last grandchild Luke, due to her illness. However, she knew that baby Luke wore the family heirloom Baptismal dress which Lynette was the first one to be baptized in.
The family will hold a private memorial service in her memory. If anyone wishes to give a memorial, the family suggests either: St. Paul Lutheran Church, 107 E. River St. Ontonagan, Michigan 49953 or the American Cancer Society.
