Eugene Caruss

Eugene Clarence Caruss of Mesa, Arizona passed away Saturday October 23, 2004. His parents preceded him in death. Eugene was born in Lansing, Michigan; April 1, 1945. He graduated from high school at Michigan Lutheran seminary, in Saginaw, Michigan. Eugene continued his college education at Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota. He graduated and continued God's will as he fulfilled a call to East Fork Lutheran School where he served as a teacher in both high school and grade school over 25 years.

In his service to the Lord at east Fork. He met carol Matsunaga and they were married August 9, 1969. In their thirty-five years of marriage, Eugene and Carol started a family and to them God bestowed two blessings, Renee and Marcus Caruss.

Eugene cherished his years teaching the white Mountain Apache children and spoke often the blessings God bestowed on him and his family during his time at East Fork. The road of life changed and God guided him through the hardest decision of his life which was to move to Phoenix, Arizona. it was during this time God worked His miracle. Eugene remained devoted and faithful to the Lord. In recent years, his training included paralegal and computer professions, but was most important to him was his service to God. God provided for Eugene and his family and gave Eugene the opportunity to continue his service to Him. He enjoyed the work he did fixing the computers at the school and posting the Sunday sermons on the website. Eugene was a faithful member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church, Mesa, Arizona.

Survived by:  wife, Carol; daughter, Renee; son, Marcus; two grand daughters, BreAnna and AryAnna; sister, Sandra Crays of Lansing, Michigan; brothers Michael Caruss of Waukesha, Wisconsin and Phillip of Tucson, Arizona and many other relatives and friends.
