Chronology after MLS: Attended Northwestern College( NWC )(1964 - 68; actually graduated in 1995 - that's a long story); Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary (1968 - 72, vicar to the California Mission District chairman, Pastor Robert Hochmuth, of the Arizona California District). I was assigned to Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Fresno, CA and served as their first full-time pastor from 1972 to 1978; took a call to the Japan mission and served there from Oct. 1978 to Dec. 1983; took a call to Living Word Ev. Luth. Church and served as pastor from 1984 -1988. I was called as the religion teacher and director of the Sound Foundation [a Christian contemporary auditioned choir of juniors. and
seniors) at Luther High School, Onalaska, WI. from 1988 to 1972 when I left to serve as the associate pastor of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Watertown, WI. I served there from 1992 to 2013, Oct. when
I retired.

Retirement life has been great so far but getting situated with Medicare etc. is a true hazzle. I am currently serving on the board of the Alpha Life Resources Center in Watertown. Patrina and I are busy visiting the children and our youngest, Beth, is working and living here with us.
Luke and Sarah are in Davenport, IA where Luke serves as pastor of Gethsemane Ev. Lutheran Church. As an interesting side note, Luke was assigned from WLS to be a tutor at MLS and served there
for 2 years.
Mark was just promoted to major in the US Air Force (Nov. 2013). He trained as a navigator and electronic warfare officer (EWO) and was posted to the B-1's (known as the B-ones by those who fly them) at Ellsworth AFB outside of Rapid City and flew over Afghanistan for 9 moths (2007-08). He is currently serving as an AF Liaison officer at Foot Hood in Texas.
Third son Matthew will be graduating from the University Of Toledo Law School on May 9th, Before that, after graduating from Hillsdale College, he worked for 6 years as a Latin teacher at Lakeland HS in Suffolk, VA. He and Laura and sons are currently living in Petersburg, Michigan and will be taking the Michigan bar after graduation.
Our youngest, Beth, graduated Magna Cum Laude with a major in art and a minor in history from Wisconsin Lutheran College in Milwaukee. She found a job as a teller in a local bank, Ixonia Bank. [Shows you that art is not a highly marketable skill] She is now working in accounting depart and
enjoying it. She is currently living at home with us.

I am a type one diabetic since 1975 (going on 38 years) and unfortunately I passed on that disease to son, Mark (2009) and to Beth (1989). I met my wife, Patrina, at my first church in Fresno, CA. I will be doing some preaching and vacancy work in the months ahead.
