Edward Carl Fredrich III, died Sunday, November 22, 2009. He was born in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin on May 21, 1946 to Edward Fredrich II and Elaine nee Schultz. He was preceded in death by his father and sister, Hope Judith Fredrich. Known as Mick/Mickey to his friends, he served as pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in Morenci, Michigan. He went on to teach English and Latin at Michigan Lutheran Seminary and was privileged to work with his friends at Computer Management Technologies. The crowning achievements of his life are his four children: Edward (Ned), Raina, Erin, and Molly. Cremation has taken place. His ashes will be scattered in Schoodic, Maine. There Mick will wait for the second coming of his Lord who triumphs over all sin, cancer, and death. Mick temporarily leaves behind Mara Fredrich, his wife of 37 years and his children: Edward Fredrich IV (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.), Raina and Adam Marti, (New Ulm, MN.), Erin and Mike Filer (Seattle, Washington), and daughter Molly and Douglas Booms (New Ulm, MN.) He also leaves his mother, Elaine Fredrich, and family members: Chris and Don Heise, Joel and Jan Fredrich, nieces, nephews, six grandchildren and special friends, John and Rose Nellet. The family is grateful for the loving care of Dr. Ringley and the nursing staff at Covenant Intensive Care Unit whose skills God used to grant Mick and myself a couple of extraordinary extra years of life that over flowed with the Lord's blessings. We also thank the efforts of Dr. Beverly Jarema and Dr. Balcueva and his staff here in Saginaw, the doctors of Mayo Clinic, and the care and love shown to us by American Cancer's Hope Lodge in Rochester, MN. A memorial service will be held at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1020 Court Street, on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Carl T. Otto will officiate. Friends are invited to come to Case Funeral Home, 4480 Mackinaw Road, on Tuesday, November 24, from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. to help us celebrate Mick's entry into Glory. Family members will also receive condolences an hour before the service at St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
