April 20, 2015
Our beloved sister, friend, and mentor to many children and young adults passed away April 20, 2015, after a lengthy illness. Susan Mae Post was born June 12, 1946 in Bay City, MI. She was the youngest and fourth child of Frederick and Mabel (Hachtel) Post. She attended Trinity Lutheran Church and its grade school in Bay City, Michigan Lutheran Seminary High School in Saginaw, and Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN; where she earned her teaching degree. Following graduation, she was assigned to teach at St. John Lutheran in Two Rivers, WI. She also taught and coached sports at Dr. Martin Luther College and Michigan Lutheran Seminary, Where she served as Dean of Women. Sue was known for her love of sports; as a player, coach, and a fan. Her students, players and the kids who lived in the dormitory knew ‘Dean Post’ as a firm, but loving mentor, friend and parent figure.
She was loved and respected by many, who are left to cherish her memory, including a brother Lee (Rebecca) Post of Bay City, a sister Mary Ann (Thomas) Rohde of Saginaw, four nephews Aaron (Laura), Andrew (Molly), and Steven (Rebecca) Rohde, Mike (Christina) Post and a niece Julie (Bill) Skaer.
Sue was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Kenneth Post.
Per Sue’s wishes cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will take place at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church located at Court and Bond St at 11:00 a.m. Saturday April 25, 2015 with Pastor William Brassow Officiating. Michigan Ave, Saginaw MI on Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider Michigan Lutheran Seminary, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, or a charity of their choice.
