VALLEY CENTER — Leo Gunzelman, 62, passed away at his home in Valley Center on March 17, 2018. He was born in Salina on Aug. 17, 1955.
Leo was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle and will be greatly missed by many. He truly loved his career and embraced his calling as an engineer after receiving his degree from K-State and later earning his MBA. Leo was passionate about and excelled at many hobbies, including wood-working, making furniture, stained glass and restoring antique American cars.
He is survived by his wife, Debra (Schuler) Gunzelman; sons, Matthew and Michael Gunzelman; daughter, Erin Garrison (Andy); granddaughter, Elise; sisters, Dorothy Yost (Jim), Margie Ridder, Mary Crumley (Brad), Katie Bauman (Doug), and Ruth Carpentier (Robbie); sister-in-law, Karyn Gunzelman; and many nieces and nephews.
His was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Louise Gunzelman; brother, David Gunzelman; and two nephews.
Services in the Catholic faith will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 22, at St. Jude Catholic Church, 3130 N. Amidon Ave., Wichita. A rosary will be said before the Mass at 9:30 a.m., with internment to follow at Ascension Cemetery, 7200 E. 45th St. N., Bel Aire.
