After school I moved to Idaho to attend Ricks College. I got my AA in Political Science. Then I moved to Logan, Utah to finish college. I graduated from Utah State in 1994 with a BS degree in Political Science. This gave me the opportunity to work in Washington D.C. for a Congressman and Congresswoman for a few years. Then I worked for Governor Pete Wilson and the California Chamber of Commerce in Sacramento.
In 1999 I met my husband Justin in Arizona while visiting family. I moved to Arizona. I worked for a lobbying/management firm. We married in 2000. We adopted our daughter Carrie in 2004, she has been with us since 2002. We traveled to Russia in 2004 to adopt our son Briar. That was a wild and crazy ride I would do all over and want to do again soon if the opportunity arises.
From that point on I have been trying to keep up with the kids as they grow so fast!
I quit the lobby/political world and stayed home for awhile. Then dediced to teach so I can have the same schedule as my children. So far so good for that plan! I have been a sub and Kindergarten teacher. Currently I am teaching computers to preschool thru 4th grade students.
Besides the family and teaching I have become involved with a child crisis center by serving on the board of directors. I also served on the Arizona Legislative Committee on the Promotion of Adoption. These issues have become very close and dear to me over the years.
