Macrina Sanchez (23 years-old) passed away on April 3, 1995 fighting chronic Asthma in Salinas. She is survived by her son Ivan Gutierrez, Mom Ethelvina, Dad Roberto, Sisters, Ethelvina, Cynthia, Melissa, and Brother Roberto.
She stated that if God willing she would come out of the longtime struggle with Asthma well and alive the last time she was hospitalized , she would live her life to the fullest. She did just that. God gave her a last chance to be with us and they were the best times that will ever be remembered. We love you Marci !

I remember hearing that Macrina had passed away and was so sad to hear about it. Macrina was a good friend in high school and I remember her difficulties with asthma.My biggest memory was all of the note passing she and I did during class...and writing letters in funky pen colors to each other during summer vacations. I still have her letters packed away in my high school memories box. Her crush on Richard Dean Anderson (MacGyver on tv) was all she talked about in those letters and her latest crushes on local guys.
She will always be missed.
