Jeanie Curlee (Eller)

Mrs. Jeanie Curlee Eller, 75, of Salisbury, NC passed away May 5, 2017 at Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House.  Born May 1, 1942 in Salisbury, NC she was the daughter of the late H.E. Curlee Sr. and Ruth McDaniel Curlee. 


Mrs. Eller was a graduate of Boyden High School. Jeanie worked for First Union Bank for 28 years where she was the first female vice president of the bank and a very dedicated employee. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church and a heavily active for many years in the Eureka #277 Order of Eastern Star. She had many favorite charities, one of which was the Masonic Children’s Home at Oxford where T.O. Eller dedicated a cottage in her honor in 2004. Jeanie was a very lovable and fun loving person and once road an ox in Costa Rica. 


Along with her parents, preceding her in death are her sisters, Elaine Eidson, Brenda Comer and brother, H.E. “Gene” Curlee Jr.


Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Tommy Eller; son, Steve Safrit Jr. and wife Barbara; grandchildren, Sydney and Blake Safrit; brother, Ronnie Curlee and wife Kim; sister, Jackie Hudgins; sister in law, Anne Curlee, Eloise Eller, Patsy Koon; brother in law, Bob Helms; aunts, Ruth Cline and Betty Earnhardt; along with many nieces and nephews.

 
Memorial service will be held at 11am Monday, May 8, 2017 at Bethel Lutheran Church with Pastor Carroll Robinson officiating. A celebration reception will follow in the church fellowship hall. A private burial will be held.

The family would like to give special thanks to those that comforted her during her journey.
