Sydney Stanton Dibrell died December 24, 2005, at his Colbran, Colorado ranch.  Syd was a United States Army Veteran.  He attended the Citadel and North Carolina State University, earning a Masters Degree in structural engineering.  He moved from North Carolina to Denver, Colorado, and later Colbran, Colorado, where he lived for ten years as a cattle rancher.  He was formerly married to Clara Dibrell and later married Carol Petrie in Jefferson, Colorado.  He was a member of the Porsche Club of America and enjoyed hunting, horseback riding, skiing, and racing his Porsche.  He was survived by his wife, Carol, two stepsons, Kevin and David, his sister, Bettie Dibrell.
