Charles Lewis Hess of Salisbury, North Carolina, died March 15, 1977.  He died at the North Carolina Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, after an illness of two weeks.  He was educated at Salisbury Business College and Rowan Tech, and had been an accountant for Rowan Distributing Company since January.  Before that he was associated with Carolina Mobile Homes in Rockwell for five years.  He was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.  He was survived by his wife, Carol Starnes Hess, a son, Maxwell Starnes Hess, and a one year old daughter, two brothers, Bobby R. Hess and Wesley W. Hess, and five sisters, Mrs. Betty H. Byran, Mrs. Shirley H. Yarbro, Mrs. Jean H. Farrington, Mrs. Peggy H. Frank, and Mrs. Carol H. Reinhardt.
