Eleanor Jarrell (Ray)

Eleanor Jarrell (Ray)

Eleanor J. Ray, 69, of Greensboro, passed away Monday, Feb. 20, 2012, after a courageous five-year battle with ovarian cancer. She was married to Don A. Ray for 48 years.

Eleanor was born March 12, 1942, and spent most of her childhood in Salisbury. She and Don lived in Greensboro all of their married years and owned and operated Ray Moving & Storage and Ray Self Storage.

Eleanor loved her church, College Place United Methodist Church, and the Friends Sunday School Class. She was an active member of Quota International and also a part of "The Bridge Club," a group of friends who were near and dear to her for over 40 years.

She is survived by her husband, Don Ray; her daughter, Teresa Sowinski (Dave); her son, Alan Ray (Natalie); and her special Colombian daughter, Olga Gmez Fratoni (Frank). She was also the proud grandmother of Mark, Brian and Kevin Sowinski and Jake and Sayra Ray.
