Barry Lee Powlas, 71 of Salisbury, NC passed away on Oct. 11, 2013 at Carolina's Medical Center-Main in Charlotte. Barry was born November 4, 1941 in Salisbury, the son of the late Everett Leroy Powlas and Vada Viola Moore Powlas.

Barry was a 1960 graduate of Boyden High School, , a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church, member of the choir, a veteran of the US Army, a member of the Harold B. Jarrett American Legion Post, a longtime volunteer at the Carolina Raptor Center of Huntersville. He enjoyed woodworking, being outside and reading.

In addition to his parents, Barry is also preceded in death by a sister, Ann White.

Survivors; wife, Mary Ann Caldwell Powlas, who he married on September 7, 1974, son, Barrett Lee Powlas and wife, Kelly, grandaughter, Kristen Layne Powlas of Charlotte, sister, June Powell, of High Point and numerous pets.
