Carl Arthur Shumaker, Jr., a resident of Louisville, Kentucky, died October 29, 2007, at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He was a former chief metallurgical engineer for Vermont American. He was a member of St. Matthews Episcopal Church. He is survived by his wife Jennifer Smith; sons, Geoff, Nathan and Brantley.
